ROLLIT

FAQ

Is crypto dice legal?

Short version: depends entirely on where you live. Long version: most countries' gambling laws predate crypto, so they treat it as a regulatory grey area. This is a starting point, not legal advice — check your local laws.

United States

Federal: no specific prohibition on crypto dice. The UIGEA targets payment processors, not players. State: highly varied. New York and Washington are restrictive; most other states don't directly address crypto gambling.

United Kingdom

Online gambling requires a UK Gambling Commission license to operate. Sites without one are technically out of the framework, though the UKGC primarily enforces against operators, not individual players.

Canada

Each province regulates online gambling. Offshore sites aren't licensed by Canadian regulators, but enforcement focuses on operators offering services into Canada, not recreational players.

European Union

Country-by-country. Malta and Curaçao license many offshore operators. France, Germany, and Italy have stricter licensing requirements. EU passporting does not apply to gambling.

Australia

The Interactive Gambling Act prohibits operators offering most online gambling to Australian residents. Enforcement targets operators, not players, but it does mean fewer legal options.

Brazil + India

Both are evolving rapidly. Brazil is rolling out a national gambling licensing framework. India varies dramatically by state — some have explicit online gambling laws, most don't.
